I have the latest version of X. When I go to update Visual Composer it fails. It worked on the other 4 websites with different themes but not with X.

What is the version of Visual Composer that you are trying to update it to? Is it later than version 5.2.1?
If so, it is normal that you wont get to update it for now because 5.2.1 is the latest supported version of VC with X.
