Hi There,
I just tested on the video element and the classic video element with a Vimeo embedded code and it is working fine on my end.
Please try testing for plugin conflict by turning off all third party plugins and cleaning your browser cache.
If the issue gets fixed you can turn each plugin at the time and test it until you find the conflicting plugin.
If that does not help, please provide your URL so we can take a closer look.
Thank you
hello,
yes, i disabled all plugins except cornerstone and the videos still dont show up. i also cleared the cache many times before i contacted you.
can you take a look? i added the login on the secure form.
Hi there,
I checked and there are no issues with the video element, are you sure you’re adding the correct video URL? The URL is this https://vimeo.com/184895349, but it’s not a video file URL, instead it’s the URL where the player is. Even without the video element, nor X theme or cornerstone, it doesn’t work
<video class="x-mejs has-stack-styles" preload="none" id="mejs_6541448756526766_from_mejs" src="https://vimeo.com/184895349"><source src="https://vimeo.com/184895349" type="video/vimeo"></video>
As far as I remember, Vimeo offers direct video file URL but that’s for Pro plan from them. That URL is simply a page URL and not a file URL.
With video element/player, you have to add the file URL and not the page URL.
Thanks!
very strange the Vimeo account owner hasnt changed anything and the videos were loading fine for weeks until yesterday.
im not sure what your saying about the Vimeo links. But I used the classic video embed element and the videos are now working.
Hi there,
Maybe it’s due to cache, and yes, it should work with embed code since you’re letting the Vimeo control the video
Cheers!
yes, of course, clearing the cache is the first thing i tried, several times. something changed after the wordpress updates and theme updates.
Hi there,
We’ll check that too, but maybe it’s the new way Wordpress’ MEJS handle videos. Cornerstone only uses the player and media library provided by Wordpress, and we only styled it to match the theme. That’s why we recently provided updates to match the new WP 4.9 MEJS.
And you must of course update to the latest since you already updated your Wordpress to 4.9.
Thanks!
