Vimeo Video Slider Revolution Won't Autoplay

So, I’m using Vimeo video as a background on revolution slider, and the video won’t auto play.

I read up on it, and found that it has something to do with audio in certain browsers, so I exported a new video with no audio track, and I added &autoplay=1&muted=1 to my arguments and now the video plays, but now it also has an ugly pause button right in the middle of the video and it doesn’t loop anymore. All I want is a simple looping video background.

I checked your provided page and the background video doesn’t have a pause button in the center. What browser and device you’re testing it with?

Chrome on Mac is showing the pause button and is not looping, but chrome on PC works fine.

Well, now the video won’t play at all anymore. I’m not sure what the issue is.

Thanks for providing the credentials. I have logged in and checked every thing. I could still not replicate the issue. Your video is playing on my end with no issues at all. I am suspecting that you are viewing the browser cached version of the site cached version of your site. Please clear all your caches including your browser. You may need to use Incognito mode or private browsing mode and test your site again.

Please let us know how it goes.

No, I’ve cleared all my caches and check on multiple devices with incognito mode, and it’s no longer playing. This also happened on a previous site I worked on and had to remove the video, but for this site, I really need it.

I couldn’t find whats causing this issue as it all works on our end without a pause button. I’ll continue checking but would you mind providing more details of your Mac OS version?

From looking at other forums, I can see that you guys never see an issue on your end. So, I’m not sure what else to do. It’s definitely not working. I’ve tried 3 different computers, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome. Also, this is the second time this has happened to me on two different websites.

I was using OS Mavericks, but I can’t seem to get the same results on any browser I use.

When I open up Cornerstone, I see the video playing perfectly, but won’t play on a live site.

Hi Chad,

This is weird, the issue is very inconsistent sometimes it plays, more often it’s not with same exact settings. One thing I discovered though is if you remove the other 2 Vimeo video on your content, the slider background video constantly play.

If you have access to the direct link of the video, I advise that you set it up as an HTML5 Video background.

Thank you. I knew I wasn’t crazy. I’ve deleted the other Vimeo videos off the page, and now it seems to work perfectly, for now. Not really sure what the issue was, but it seems to be a consistent issue, as it has happened to me with 2 different websites now. I hope a real solution can be found, but I’m fine with just removing those two videos from the home page.

Glad it’s working now. If it happens again, please setup a test page for us so we could try different settings.

Please also note that the support staff have different computer setup. @Rad and @RueNel might have the same setup that’s why they can’t replicate the issue. It just happened that @friech had replicated it.

I’m not sure what you mean by:

But, we’re not making things up. If a support staff can’t replicate the issue, that is really the case that is why @Rad asked to provide more details.
