Vimeo Embed stopped working

On my website, I had a primary video on https://seniorsat5280.com. It was showing fine, then all the sudden it stopped working. It’s on the main page with the video https://vimeo.com/171491829.

Not sure what’s happening, but it’s sized right, shows a box, but no video. The video embeds elsewhere fine.

Thank you for writing in, a page link https://vimeo.com/171491829 does not work on Video Player element. You need the video’s direct link, Vimeo provides a direct link to the video for their premium users.

If you’re not a Vimeo premium user, please use the embed code instead and paste it into an Embedded Video element.

So my apply preset says “no presets” so I have no spot to actually paste that code. It just has a video name and a box with a + sign.

Can you give us a screenshot? It should look like this.

If that is different on your end, please check for the following:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date.

  2. Clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.

  3. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  4. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

By the way, nothing has changed on my side, I simply logged in one day and it wasn’t displaying.

You’re using the Classic Video Player element. Use the Class Embedded Video or the Video element as suggested previously.

Also as instructed previously, get the video embed code from Vimeo.

And, insert it in the box.

Your setup before is not correct though it worked before. Please follow the correct setup.

Yes, it worked. Thank you very much! Any idea on a fix for the original video control I can embed, but it would be nice to use the original. I’ll update all my embedded videos.

Hey There,

Since you are using Video Embed, all the video controls will come from Vimeo. You cannot modify or change it to something since Vimeo is the one who will control the appearance and how its controls will display.
