View Post/View Page option has disappeared

hey all. I’m having a strange issue. All of a sudden, the View Post/Page option on my edit screen is not showing up after I Publish.

An example of the workflow is ->

1. Create new post/page
2. Edit and build the post/page
3. Publish
4. No option to View Post/Page on the screen.

I checked with WPENGINE and they told me that wasn’t an option with standard Wordpress 5.3 and they said it might be something with a theme. So, here I am. Up until this point, I’ve always gotten a ‘View Post’ option on the edit page after I published.

Now, I have to click ‘Preview’, and then edit post/page, to get to the view option

Note - I disabled all plugins, went to twenty nineteen, cleared the wp-config, took out a buddypress .php file, and had a wordpress core replaced before I got to this point.

Any help here?

Hello Peter,

Thank you for the very detailed post information. This issue usually have happen if you updated to WordPress 5.3. They have omitted the View Post at the top. You are only seeing it after you hit the update button and it is now located in the lower left portion of the editing screen.
