Videos not appearing in Pro Editor or on the actual website

If you goto the website https://fordranger.sydney and scroll to the bottom of the page. There is three videos. They are all hosted locally. They play in media so they work.

Also in pro editor when you add the Video source URL they don’t appear at all in the editor either for video element or classic video element. I have no idea why.

When I look at the code on the website it doesn’t even seem to have the url in the source

Hello @deanmath,

Thanks for writing in! I have inspected your page and I see why your video is not working. It is because you are using a video format that is NOT cross-browser compatible. Do you still have the original video? Please download Handbrake (handbrake.fr) or any video software and convert your video into a .mp4 format. The only cross-browser format is .mp4, .webm and .ogv video formats.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Ok I used handbrake to be sure. Converted it again. Still no luck. Have tried a few conversions with handbrake.

Ive never had problems adding videos before. It has me stumped. I had already tried converting into all different types before I logged this. Its killing me.

Hello @deanmath,

You are still using an incorrect video format. Please convert to .mp4, .webm or .ogv only.
Please use .mp4 as most modern browsers will play it in your browser without any codec or plugin needed.

Regards.

Thanks for your help so far. Its been converted into MP4 multiple times. In fact it was in mp4 to start with, its been converted into webm. I’ve wasted that much time on it. It still doesn’t work. The one that’s up there now is webm.

Its still doesn’t display in the pro editor when the source URL is added and its definitely doesn’t display on the site.

Ive converted it with three different bits of software and online. Prove me wrong. I’ll be happy to just get it working.

I’ve even been able to play every single video Ive uploaded in Media Library. There has not been one that I’ve uploaded that hasn’t played in Media Library.

Heres a test page with the video without using X at all, using the normal editor to embed the video

https://fordranger.sydney/test/ and it works perfectly

Hey @deanmath,

Thanks for testing. I tested your video on my site and it works using the Video (Player) element. This means that the issue could be unique and is not a bug.

Because the Video element is powered by Javascript and I see a JS error coming from a third-party plugin, please testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If that doesn’t help still, please give us WordPress Admin Level access and keep all third-party plugins temporarily deactivated while we investigate the issue.

Thanks.

Envira Galleries Videos Add On. I don’t need it now. I used something else. Thanks for the help

Hello @deanmath,
