I’m trying to find an example of X theme used for cinematography, specifically how to do a video portfolio using x theme. Can anyone point me to examples?

We do not have any idea or any knowledge of a user site that uses X for a Cinmatography site. When you use video in a portfolio item, usually you’ll have something from this demo:
http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/portfolio/
