I have a video background on my page. It works on my mac but not on my windows surface. I’ve cleared my cache per the previous instructions and tried loading in a new incognito window but it’s still not working. http://atlasinnovations.com

I’ve checked your site and the background video is too big and the loading is slow, so, you can try to resize the video and ensure that you`re using the latest version of our products.
I don’t think that’s the problem. I just installed the xtheme this weekend so I don’t think it’s a version issue. The video (yes it’s large) works on a mac. On my microsoft surface it just shows the poster image. That’s the issue that I’m writing in about. I can only get it to work if I use an animated gif as the background image.

That could be the reason, you’re on Microsoft surface. It’s considered a touch-device, and any touch devices are treated as mobile where videos are not auto-played, or perhaps disabled to prevent data charges.
A tablet could have had keyboard accessories, there were laptops that have touch feature while keyboard can be removed, and there are surface devices. And those devices can even surpass desktop resolution, which means, it’s hard for the system to detect which device is being used, the only detectable is the touch feature. So all are considered mobile and videos are inactive.
Please note that X theme doesn’t have its own video player, it only uses the video player provided by Wordpress (we only applied styling to match the theme). The detection and rendering of the video depend on Wordpress internal player library and the device.
We’ll continue checking about this, but I can’t provide any workaround.
