Background video is no longer playing on my main page header. I’m afraid a plugin or something is interfering. Any ideas?
Hi Michael,
Thanks for writing in! You need to use a self hosted video on your background section to autoplay your background video.

If you’re using Slider Revolution, please follow this guide (http://threesite.com/loop-video-on-slider-revolution/).
Hope that helps.
Thanks for the reply! I am using a self-hosted video. The URL is https://videos.files.wordpress.com/r3ZQQMRj/temporaryvideo_hd.mp4
It plays in a separate window, but won’t play as a header background.

Hello Michael,
Thanks for updating the thread.
I checked the video and then also tested into my dev setup, video is playing fine on my end (dev setup). Please try out following:
- In Video player element, please make sure to select Autoplay under Controls Setup > Display & Function.

- If you have selected Autoplay option then please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
In case problem is still there, please share website login details in secure note for us to take a closer look.

Thanks.
Ended up being the Series Engine plug-in. That sucks because I need a header video and the plug-in. I’ve contacted the plug-in’s author.
Any other ideas that might help in the mean time?
Thanks again for helping me out.

Hi Michael,
The theme uses the Wordpress built-in media player, if there is a conflict between then it’s probably between Wordpress and your plugin which I’m not sure which. I recommend request temporary workaround from the plugin author.
Thanks!
I got a reply from the plugin author. Any ideas what I can do? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Travis:
There’s likely one of two things happening here;
- Series Engine embeds jQuery on a page. That could break some other poorly coded javascript.
- I’ve seen this happen with increasing frequency lately… Some themes include a toggle to only include the mediaelement.js framework on certain pages. If that’s on, When Series Engine’s javascript is included, it’ll break because if can’t find that framework. That in turn might also cause other things on the page like your video background to fail.

Hi Eric,
Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, will need to be directed to the original developer.
Thank you for your understanding.
