Video not playing in Chrome desktop, Chrome mobile and sometimes safari. Works on firefox

Just recently I migrated my site from Flywheel to Inmotion. After the change the videos throughout the site are not working except on the blog page. I use the conerstone X player I believe.

I checked with inmotion and after fully testing everything they see no problems and believe it to be a development issue. But asked if there is a specific setting they need to change. PHP version looks good and the error is replicated on several version of PHP.

Videos work on an Apple mobile device on safari but not on google chrome. They also work on firefox no problem.

The video you have uploaded will only work on devices where Quicktime player is installed, usually Mac and iOS. That’s because the video format that you have uploaded is MOV. https://www.audioshakespearepronunciationapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Purpose-of-the-App-SD-480p.mov

Please try uploading an MP4 format of that video, it works across the browsers.

Thank-you that makes sense and I hadn’t noticed that before… but I am curious as to why it worked before for a year and just recently is causing an issue?

I’m not sure about that, have you installed Quicktime player before? It’s been like that for many years and it’s always like. Example, https://www.quora.com/Why-cant-windows-10-play-videos-with-mov-format, that’s from 2016. The video is played with the video player available within your device and not by the actual browser, the browser only uses it and play it within.
