Thanks for writing in!

Thanks can be done in two ways.
You can use Revolution slider with Vidio background.

The second option, Create one section with Video background. The Reference site uses section video background.

Section background would be better. Easy to create and faster loading no extra JS.

I´ve read in another post that I shouldnt use youtube or Vimeo links. So which video platforms are OK?

I just tried a youtube link and it seems to work.Althought size doesn´t really look good, because it should be full-width

My video has more than 100 MB so I can´t upload it on wordpress.

Hey Nikolaus,

The Section background only supports self-hosted videos or videos that are accessed directly like http://example.com/video.mp4. MP4 is also strongly recommended as it has the widest browser support.

Though Youtube and Vimeo works, it’s not supported and we can’t provide code to make that work.

100 MB is extremely big for a background video. Please note that the purpose of the background video is decorative only. It’s not recommended to let site users download huge amount of data that was meant only for decoration.

You’d either use a smaller video or edit your current video and achieve a 2 to 3 MB in size or use Slider Revolution which supports Youtube and Vimeo background videos.
