Video in revolution Slider not playing in all browsers

Hi guys,

I have uploaded an mp4 file in my revolution slider to show on the home page.
I can see that video on Chrome,Safari, Firefox but not on the other browsers…
Opera, Edge or iE11

I do have .webm and ogv files do I need to add them somewhere?
I also have the same video on YouTube but I could not figure out how to play entirely so I went with the background layer mp4 route.

Is that the best method? What will be faster?

Hi @LucyKeile,

Thank you for writing in, it might be how your video is encoded not all browser can play the same type of video, the safest would be to use the YouTube video. Please see the following documentation and video.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

I have changed to display the youtube video, what can I do to remove the controllers and profile icon on top left - also on the top right there is a (copy) that shows, I am not sure how to remove.

Can you tell me how I fix on mobiles? It wont resize the screen. :frowning:

Hi @LucyKeile,

Unfortunately, Youtube does not provide a parameter to remove that profile on the top right of the video.

Let’s go back to the mp4 video, try re-encoding your video, you can use free software like handbrake. Make sure your video codec is H.264 and format is keep as mp4. this mp4 format should be compatible with most latest version browsers (https://caniuse.com/#search=mp4)

Regarding the mobile issue, I cant view your site right now (credentials did not work), so I cant see the issue, in the meantime, please set your Slider’s Layout sizing to auto

Thanks,

I have changed to the mp4 - it shows on firefox, chrome, safari, I guess I need to install all those browsers and test!!!

I did not do anything to this file and for some reason it wasn’t playing on Firefox.

We’re glad to hear that your video is working on Firefox now. I checked your site also and the video is playing on Firefox.
