Video in revolution slider does not work on Firefox or Chrome

Hi!

I’m having an issue with a video that I want to show in my revolution slider. On Safari it works perfectly, but on Chrome and Firefox it doesn’t show up. The video is embedded on the site but I’m using the ‘external link’ option to add it to the slider.

On Chrome and Firefox the text and images show up but just not the video. In Chrome the text does, however show up really small.

I have the latest version of the browsers, my theme and all it’s plugins are updated. I have tried in private browser windows and on different computers but it doesn’t work anywhere. How can I solve this issue?

Thanks!

Regards,
Karianne

Hi Karianne,

Thanks for writing in.

May I know which URL has this slider? I checked your account and there are many sites. For the meantime, please try using different video from different URL. Maybe it’s format is not supported by Chrome and Firefox, but works in Safari (like MOV files).

Thanks!

Hi Rad,

Thanks for writing back.

The site I’m building on is treehold.com, however you’re going to need to add the server into a hostfile (such as in gasmask) because I’m building a new site on an existing URL.

The file is an mp4. I tried to add a youtube video but that didn’t work either.

Hey Karianne,

I currently see a slider error in your home page

Would you mind giving us WordPress Admin access also so we could check your setup?

Thanks.

Hi!

Thank you, Yes it’s listed below

Thanks for the credentials. It took a long time for the video to load but it eventually did.

I’ve created a test slider and replaced your Home page for testing by the way because I didn’t see a video in your Home slider.

Because of your WordPress setup, I also needed to enable Load all JavaScript libraries: in Slider Revolution > Global Settings in order for your sliders to show up.

Do you have browser extensions in Chrome and Firefox? If so, please temporarily deactivate them all.

Regretfully, since the video loads on my end, I could not see what’s causing the issue on your end. I could only speculate.

I’d also recommend copying your site to a staging server in a different web host. Your current setup using a host file to connect to your site might be playing a role in this issue.

Thanks.

Hi Chrstian,

Thanks so much for your effort. It’s working for me now also!

Thanks a million!

You’re welcome, Karianne. Glad we’re able to help.
