Video Element not working after Migration

This is a testimonial video on our homepage and we have some on other pages that is not working after the migration. Already updated the X theme and Cornerstone to the latest version but that doesn’t solve the problem. Even the poster that supposed to act as a thumbnail also won’t work. Please let me know where I’m missing about this. Thanks!

You are having some issues because there is a JS error on the page. It occurred because you have inserted this HTML code in the Cornerstone > Theme Options > JS section.

<div id="fb-root"></div>
<script async defer crossorigin="anonymous" src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v5.0&appId=883976995367532&autoLogAppEvents=1"></script>

Please remove this code because this is not the correct place to insert it to your site. What you can do is to go to the Plugins section, install the “Insert Headers and Footers” plugin and use this so that you can easily manage to add any code at the header or footer of your site.

After making all your changes, please clear your plugin caches and browser caches before testing your site. And by the way, please also check out this documentation:

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Thank you, Ruenel. I’ll do the necessary changes now. I’m wondering why this problem didn’t exist before as my va added this a very long time ago.

Will check it then, Thanks!

Update: Still not working :frowning: Already removed the script from where it needs to be removed. Also cleared the cache. Can you check it again what was the problem please?

This link “http://box5736.temp.domains/~freefio2/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Anton-with-subtitle..mp4

needs to be like this: “https://freefinancialself.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Anton-with-subtitle..mp4

but I already change it on the video element. It’s just that, it seems it is not saved for some reason.

Hello Shlomo,

Thanks for the updates.

Please install the Search and Replace plugin. You will need to search for: http://box5736.temp.domains/~freefio2/wp-content/uploads/ and then replace it with https://freefinancialself.com/wp-content/uploads/

If this is not helping, please provide us access to your site so we can investigate further. You can create a secure note in your next reply with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WP login URL
– WP username
– WP password
– WP Administrator Role
- Confirmation that we can access and make changes to your site

To know how to create a secure note, please check this out: How The Forum Works

Cheers.

Already tried to install the plugin and run it to our latest staging site and it didn’t solve the problem.
I’m giving now administrator access. And I hope it is okay to make this comment as a confirmation that you can make the necessary change in order to solve this specific problem. Thanks!

Hello Shlomo,

I am still seeing the issue in the console which is why the videos is not displaying:

See the secure note.

I’ve run again the Search and Replace process. Your video should be playing correctly now.

Best Regards.

Still not working :frowning: @ruenel
Is there anything more we can do?

Hi Shlomo,

I have checked your website and found the problem with the video element while using the hosted* video only. I have checked it in my local environment but was unable to replicate the issue. The issue you are having might be due to the incompatibility between X and Cornerstone. I would suggest you follow the below steps while updating the X theme and the Cornerstone.

  1. Delete the existing Cornerstone
  2. And then use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version

If that does not help, there might be some different reasons behind your issue. I would like to suggest troubleshooting the following common issue to help us to recognize the reason.

1.Theme Related Issue
2.Plugin Conflict
3.Theme Update related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization
5.Disabling Cache
6.Disabling CDN

If you discover that an issue is coming from a custom code or 3rd party plugin, kindly consult with a developer or contact the plugin author. Please note that we do not provide support for custom codes and 3rd party plugins.
If none of the above help, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

Sorry for the late reply. My va already fixed it. He said he just deactivated and activated back most of the plugins and it resolve the issue. Thank you for the idea. We still couldn’t fix it without all of you!

Hi Shlomo,

Glad that we are able to help you.

Thanks
