I have a section applied to my page and am using a video as a background https://tech4eleven.com/404-not-found/ I’ve been searching the forums on ways to enable the audio for background videos but they’re for X and haven’t worked. One solution was to copy ‘cornerstone\includes\utility\helpers.php’ to my child theme and change ‘muted=true’ to ‘muted=false’ but that didn’t work. Can I get some help?

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Background videos were intended for aesthetic feature. It does not function as a video element thus there is no audio nor you can control to play/pause the video. If you want to have a video with an audio, it is best that you use the video element or add a video layer in a Revolution Slider then insert it to your page.

thanks for replying. I figured it could do what I want using rev slider. I just dont want to add the weight of another plugin to my site just for 1 page. Now if I use the video element, can I somehow add a layer on top of that? As you can see on my page linked above, I have a background video and then a search bar on top of that. Thanks for the help

Hi there,

You may take that approach but using the default setup alone will not cut it. You will have to add the video element then elements below it and write some custom css code to move the elements above the video element.

And yes, the easier and faster would be to use the Revolution Slider plugin.
