Very slow website caused by WPML

Hi,

We made a website for architects, http://www.teamv.nl and he is very, very slow. We have run a diagnostics and we’ve learned that WMPL is the problem. When we shut this plugins down: WMPL media, WMPL Multilingual CMS and WMPL String Translation, the website works just fine. Cache isn’t the issue, the website is running on a fast server, not build with pro and cornerstone as composer. How can we resolve this?

Please help, the costumer is not pleased at all…

First, I would suggest you to read this post about performances with WPML:

Can you confirm that the following settings are OFF or disabled:

  • Auto ID adjust state (WPML > Languages)
  • Track where strings appear (WPML > String translation)
  • Auto register strings(WPML > String translation)
