Very Slow opening theme option and cornerstone

Hi, I just install x theme for the website that i build for my client, i’m using wordpress 5.0.2, x theme ver 6.4.6. When i tried to open cornerstone or theme option, it keeps loading and never open. I tried to reinstall and the problem still remain. Can you help me to figure out this problem? The access to wordpress i share in secure notes.

Thank you.

Best,
Rendy

Hi Rendy,

Thanks for reaching out.

Are you on shared hosting? Disabling the theme and cornerstone only improves a bit the loading speed of the admin (the admin is slow too and not just the Theme Options).

I also noticed that you already increase your site’s memory limit from 128mb to 256mb, could you try increasing it to 512mb? Still, these aren’t going to take effect if you’re on shared hosting.

And please provide your FTP login credentials in a secure note and I’ll check if there is any logged information.

Thanks!

Hi, yes i’m on shared hosting. The cPanel and FTP access i provide in secure notes, if there’s problem with the hosting, kindly send me a performance/diagnostic tools report so i can forward it to the host provider.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best,
Rendy.

Hi Rendy,

I see, change in configuration will not improve it since you’re on shared hosting. They are mostly not allowed by your hosting itself, and they will not let increase it. But you could still try and contact them and request a memory limit increase to 512mb. But most likely not possible, as you’re basically sharing the same resources with the other sites running on the same machine. So even if your site is empty, there will be the time it’s going to run and load slowly if the other sites getting much of traffics.

Please check this https://www.pctechguide.com/moving-from-shared-to-dedicated-web-hositing/shared-hosting-issues-shared-bandwidth-and-server-resources

As I more like to investigate it and get some diagnostics, I can’t since it’s not possible in your shared hosting.

Increasing anything will not take effect even if I do it on CPanel or FTP. And again, your admin is still slow even I deactivate the theme and cornerstone (only improves about few milliseconds). And as of now, it’s not loading at all so I’ll continue checking later.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for your info, i have other website and hosted in the same host provider and using pro (i haven’t update my wordpress and pro though for this website, wordpress on 4.9.9, and pro on 2.2.5 version), but they are running well. I’m not sure what’s the cause of this problem. If the problem in speed, please let me know (it would be helpful if you can give browser performance report, so i can forward it to the host provider and ask them the alternatives).

Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Thank you.

Best,
Rendy

Hi Rendy,

Performance in shared hosting is usually unpredictable, your another site could be running on different machine unaffected by this (a hosting could have many different servers and a server could have multiple sites sharing together). I’m not saying it’s the case, but it usually happens.

As for browser performance report, I’m not sure what you’re referring. The only information displayed on browsers are loading speed of site resources, it doesn’t display any information of server internal processing. If it does, then I could easily point it out without any help from the hosting and I would gladly do it

Still, I’ll continue checking but as of now, I can’t find anything since it’s a shared hosting. As it only displays the access logs and traffic stat in CPanel.

Thanks!

Hi Rad,

Well, i will contact the host, can you point out what kind of information or request that i’ve should ask to the host? I tried to reinstall wordpress and reinstall theme, even now to upload theme it’s take forever. I’m looking for solution actually, so if there’s any thing that i can do to help you gain some information, or any thing that should i ask to my host, then i would try it.

Looking forward to your suggestion.
Thank you.

Best,
Rendy

Hey Rendy,

On my end, your site loads fine that’s even my internet speed is slow. Please watch the video recording in the secure note to see the load time on my end.

There could be something between your Internet Service Provider and your web host’s delaying or disrupting the connection. This also maybe why Rad said that your site is still slow even deactivating X and Cornerstone.

Please try using a VPN and see what happens.

I’m sorry but we don’t have any written report to show your host what to look for especially that Rad said your WordPress Admin really loads slow even without X and Cornerstone. This means that our product is not the cause of the problem and your web host should be the one to troubleshoot the issue.

Your host can also help you with the upload limit. You can try doing it yourself by following the guide at https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-increase-the-maximum-file-upload-size-in-wordpress/. But, if they don’t work, you will really need to contact your web host.

Thanks.
