Vertical list of posts, same function as Essential Grid

I like how Essential Grid allows us to filter a set of posts by category with “infinite scrolling” pagination. Is there a similar plugin or technique for doing this instead with a vertical list of posts instead of a grid of thumbnails?

Hi @ryanserrc,

Our theme does not have such a feature, but there are third-party plugins that implement the feature of infinite scrolling for the standard posts listing page. So by standard posts listing page I mean the page that you set as posts page in Settings > Reading admin menu.

Here is the list of plugins that you can consider installing:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/infinite-scroll/

Please kindly consider that we do not support officially the list above, this is only an attempt to help you implement the feature and not an official recommendation by us.

We recommend that you consider this article when you want to choose a third-part plugin.

Thank you.

Thanks. What I really want is the category filtering that Essential Grid and The Grid do, but for a list of posts instead of a grid of thumbnails.

Hi @ryanserrc,

Thank you for the clarification. Please check Essential Grid and The GRID skin editor function. Since what you want is the looks, you can edit a skin to make it that way. To make it a list, first set the columns of the GRID to just one. Then choose Masonry style. Edit the skin as needed by adding the text layer outside the media wrapper dropzone. The skin editor have details about it.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for this reply! I think I see what you’re saying now. I’m configured the skin so the Title and Excerpt are above the image. And, I’m guessing that to get the image to shrink down to only 15% and to wrap the Excerpt around the image, would be done in CSS?

Hello @ryanserrc,

Please edit the skin and use the element styling. Be aware that custom css is beyond the scope of our support. If you want to shrink the featured image or the cover photo of your grid item, please adjust the ratio in the Layout Composition instead.

To learn more about how you can edit the grid skin, please check this out:

Thank you. I’ve adjusted the ratio to 16x1 but the thumbnail still expands to fill the full width of the page.

Hi,

In that case, please provide us login credentials in a secure note so we can take a closer look.

Thanks,
