I’ve confirmed the try block is the issue on your site. I will speak to Kory as to why this change happened, but we will most likely not be wrapping custom js in a try block. Weird to me this happens in iOS at all, but it’s possibly a security thing to not share global variables in different scopes? Idk strange one to me.
Hey @charlie first of all best wishes for 2023, I hope you had a good beginning.
Was wondering if there are any updates on this? I have 4 3js sites that all face the same problem after upgrading, most of them are actually not containing any try blocks.
It looks like the most stable version everything was still running on was version 5.2.0-beta1 after that errors show up on Apple devices, causing the app to not load at all. The ‘funny’ (actual quite frustrating ) thing is that on windows browsers it doesn’t show any errors, on apple devices it prompts that the page can’t load due to too many errors.
Thanks!
@charlie, after testing some more (I was getting quite some mixed results) it starting to look now that 3 out of 4 websites running normal (and consistent). The last one I have some things to change but my suspicion is, after this is done also that will be running normal on the latest version.
So sorry to bother you with this.
Cheers.
No bother at all. Glad it’s working now, let me know if you have any issues! be on the lookout for some Three.js content from me later this year. Thanks for the inspiration, Happy new year!
Looking forward tot that! Where should I be looking?
I will keep you updated! Probably a mid year thing.
Please do!
