How do I put one of the V2 elements in a widget?

Thanks for writing in.

You can’t, the added element is added with preset and only available to where it’s added (through the builder). You may try classic elements or use Shortcode generator.

If you wish to use the shortcode generator, then go to your cornerstone settings and enable Show Legacy Shortcode Generator. Then create a draft post and insert the shortcode into the editor, then copy them and paste to your widget.
