Using webp image format

Hello
Now that Safari supports it, I am ready to make the move to webp.
Please advice on best methodology, specially one that supports fallback for incompatible browsers. Any word on when wp will support it natively?

Thanks for posting in! Regretfully WebP is still not yet supported in WordPress. If you want to apply use it in your site, you may need to check this article: https://wp-rocket.me/blog/webp-use-image-format-wordpress/
