Hi! I’m trying to create this full width section that contains one post with just the photo, headline and category. Is there a way i can do this with global block. Is there a template I can use?

Thanks for writing in! Regret there is no template that you can use that displays the same as your screenshot. You can go to X > Global Block and create a new one. You may add a section, row, and column for your block. Insert the image and the necessary text that resembles like in the screenshot. Or you can insert the recent post element to display a post item in your global block.
