Use Latin-Ext subset in Google Fonts

Hello,

I’m trying to use the X theme and I can’t find a way in the options panel to set Google Fonts to use Latin-Ext subset.
Could you please help me out?

Thanks,
Dávid

Hi there,

Not all fonts have that option available. It depends on the font you choose. Please see the links below for ways you add your font to any WordPress theme:

Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for your response.
The thing is that it is available for various fonts.
Even there is more weight available for more fonts.

Take Montserrat for example, while there are various extra subsets and weights, I can only select a portion of them.

I understand that I can use any other font, but I feel overkill to use a separate plugin just to access a subset for a built in font in the theme.

Best regards,
Dávid

Hi there,

Those are just font weights in your screenshot, and no subset. Please go to X > Launch > Templates and choose your font template, then toggle on the font weight you wish to use.

Thanks!

Hello Rad,

As you can see I would choose the font weight or subset I wish to use, but it is not available in X even though it is available on Google Fonts.

Best regards,
Dávid

Hi David,

If the font support Latin subset it is loaded automatically. See this: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cb6bngIdWN
This too: https://developers.google.com/fonts/docs/getting_started#specifying_script_subsets

Hi Lely,

You are right, X automatically loaded the latin-ext subset after I selected it

Thank you!

You’re always welcome!
