Use ACF to pass JSON to Modern Slider?

Is it possible to use Advanced Custom Fields to pass JSON data to a modern slider? I’m trying to set up a Portfolio layout with a Modern Slider for each portfolio item. What’s the best way to do this?

Perhaps you can setup an ACF Pro Gallery and use the new Slider element to display the images.
