Urgent: Site is Down

Hi,
So I was clearing some plugins and my site just went down. I can’t load it as if it doesn’t exist.
Could you please help? I’ll put my login in the the secure note.
Thanks

Hello @GenP,

Thanks for writing in! Both your homepage and the WP login url is down. We cannot login. Can you please enable the debug mode? You can do this by opening wp-config.php and adding

define('WP_DEBUG', true);

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

When you revisit the page, you should have some error output describing the Error 500 in more detail. And if nothing is helping, provide us your FTP access so that we can check your settings.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi Ruenel,

I’m a beginner to all of this so I went into file manager but I couldn’t find wp-config.php to add this code.

I create a FTP access which i’ll drop into the secure note.

I appreciate your help with this.
Thanks a bunch.

Hello @GenP,

You provided the username and the server information but you missed including the password.

If you can login through FTP, you should be able to find the wp-config.php file in the root directory of your Wordpress installtion.

Hope this helps.

Hey Jade,
I checked again and I cant find it. Sorry.
Password in the side note.
thanks

Hello @GenP,

I tried the password and it doesn’t work. Kindly make sure to double check.

Thank you.

Hi Jade, I’m going to give you my godaddy account if that’s ok.

Hello @GenP,

I was able to resolve the error. It is coming from Rev Slider. The problem is that you have several outdate plugins. You cannot simply update your WordPress core, theme and plugins because you are still using PHP 5.6. You will have to update your PHP to at least 7.2. Since you have given us access to your GoDaddy, I went ahead and changed it to 7.3 to save us time. You can check your PHP version in X > Status.

What you need to do now is to update your WordPress core, Theme and several plugins to the latest version.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Thanks so much Ruenel!

I updated everything. I’m still having a problem with the home page slider revolution.
The message says to fix it through slider setting but I couldn’t find it in the setting option nor inside the slider revolution. Here’ the screen shot:

Hello @GenP,

It could just be something related to your site and browser cache because when I checked your site, the Rev Slider is displaying without any issues:

So kindly clear your cache and check again.

All sorted! You guys are absolutely awesome and helpful.
THANK YOU!

You’re most welcome, @GenP.

Thanks for your kind words.
