Uploading and activation of X Theme (9.0.8) not working

Hello everybody,

We tried to upload and activate the X Theme in Wordpress, but the website crashed due to a critical error.

We have PHP 7.4 on our server, so there should be no compatibility issues with the theme code. We have a regular license of the X Theme, and we have a zip folder of X Theme version 9.0.8 with Cornerstone 6.0.8.

Could you please indicate how to resolve this problem?

We submitted a request in early October. Since then, we updated our server with the new PHP version and tried multiple times to address this issue, still without success.

I kindly ask you if you can provide clear instructions on the update path or information on how to make version 9.0.8 work since we have a license.

Hi Alessandro,

Thanks for reaching out.
I would suggest you try uploading the latest version of X i.e. 9.1.4 and activate the Cornerstone by following the below step.

1. After the X theme is activated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version

NOTE: Before doing the above steps, please remove the Cornerstone if it is already installed.

If that does not help, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– FTP/CPanel credential to access the file
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Hi Tristup,

Thank you for your reply. I followed your step, and tried to install the Theme by clicking on the update available:

The Theme did not install because “Update package not available”.

I also have the zip version of X 9.0.8, and I uploaded it by transferring the folder through FTP. When I activated the X Theme after installation, the website crashed. Note: I do not have a zip folder of X version 9.1.4.

Finally, I have the zip folder of PRO 5.0.8; I uploaded it through FTP but did not try to activate it yet.

Unfortunately, I’m working on a dev site, which is an exact copy of our production website but not accessible from outside, so I’m not able to provide login credentials.

Hi Alessandro,

I have checked your Themeco Account and found that you have updated your X to Pro and that might be the reason why the X is not available for update. I would suggest you use the latest version of Pro instead of X. You can download the latest version of Pro from your Themeco Account.
