Upgrading to Pro breaks URL shortened links

So here’s the general situation:

  • We’re upgrading from Theme X to PRO
  • We ran a trial run where we transferred Staging to Production (we’re using WP Engine to prep the new verison). When we upgraded to Pro suddenly all of our social media links which are shortened by Google’s URL shortener stopped working and was redirecting traffic to our homepage (i believe we have an automatic 404 redirect to our home-page).
  • The URLs are all structured properly.

Is there any reason why an upgrade to Pro would break our URL shortened links?

Thanks for writing in! Are both server configurations are same on live and staging site ?

I wasn’t able to check the cause of the issue. Could you please provide the social media links which are shortened by Google’s URL shortener? By the way, Pro 2.1.5 is now available in automatic updates! This release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (https://theme.co/changelog/). Please do update to the latest version. After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
