Upgrading to pro and revalidating

I have a license for X for one site and am able to upgrade it to Pro. I want to do this and move it over to another account. What happens to my site that I built with X if I do that? Will it still work? I want to buy another X license and install it on the first site a bit later down the road. Also, why when I go to buy an X license from my account it says $27 but when it sends me to the payment it says $57?

Regretfully, I’m not sure what happened to the price but I could answer 2 of your questions.

Your site will no longer receive updates but it will still work but maybe not for long. The reason why I don’t guarantee that our theme will work if it’s not up to date is that theme updates go with WordPress updates. There might be incompatibility issues if you use an old version of the theme and up to date version of WordPress.

Regarding the pricing - if it says $27 for X can I still get it for $27? I would have bought it at the time.

I had a lot of problems figuring out how to install the new version of Pro. I went to your instruction site and followed the instructions. I think you should add a more specific instruction before you say simply upload pro. You never mentioned that you should go to your dashboard and download Pro - this is the part I got confused about.

Hello @Bliss,

Upgrading to Pro theme would mean that you will have to install Pro theme and activate it replacing the X theme which is currently installed and active. You will have to do the following:

  • Go to your APEX dashboard (https://theme.co/apex/dashboard)
  • Download the latest Pro theme (pro.zip)
  • Log in back to your WP dashboard and go to Appearance > Themes
  • Find the Add New theme, Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme
  • Then upload the “pro.zip”
  • Once uploaded and installed, “Activate” the Pro theme.

Your previous X theme settings will be inherited and will still be the same when you go to Pro > Theme Options. With Pro theme, you now have access to the Header and Footer builders, The Grid element and the new Grid Layout element when creating a section.

Hi @Bliss regarding pricing, regretfully that is an error that you’re seeing. We do not sell X directly. Rather, it is sold on the ThemeForest marketplace, and we simply link out to it from your licenses page. We’ll get the price updated at this end so that they’re correctly aligned again.
