I am using the X child theme. I just updated the main X theme via the wordpress control panel in the themes section. Does this automatically update the child theme or do i also need to update the child theme? thanks
Curious about the same thing as this user … I have not updated my child theme ever (been running for a few years) … do I need to do anything with any of these recent upgrades?

The purpose of the child theme is being able to update the main theme without the risk of losing the file customization you did from the theme files. Simply put, there is no need to update the child theme.
