I am looking at this upgrade but as it’s a big jump I am not looking forward to it, so any tips would be much appreciated to help smooth out the journey!
Honestly, can’t remember off the top of my head, but the suggestion I’d make is that you create a staging copy of your current website and update X and Cornerstone there first (on the staging version). That way, you’ll be able to see exactly what changes and how, and you’ll be able to fix things calmly, without worrying about your users accessing a messed up version of your website (which would be the case of updating the live website directly).
You can also open a notepad file and write every change/fix/css code you add to the staging website in order to make it look like you want, and once everything is fine on the staging website, you can either push that to live or just manually fix things on the live website as well (step by step from the previously mentioned notepad file).
Hello @NetMagik,
Thanks for writing to us.
Please have a look at our doc to learn more about how to update the theme.
I would suggest you please take a backup of the database and website files before updating the theme or you can copy the live site to the staging server and then update the theme.
You must clear the cache after updating the theme.
Hope it helps
Thanks
