Updating Google Analytics to G4

Ok so the last time I checked a almost a year ago, Themeco wasn’t ready for G4 integration

So now I think Themeco is ready, what is the process to get my website back reporting Google Analytics with G4?

Thanks for writing to us.

I would suggest you use Google’s official WordPress plugin named Site Kit instead of the Google Analytics bundled plugin as it hasn’t been updated to work with the latest offering of Google Analytics.

Hmm ok, when I try to connect my google account to link it, I eventually get this error message, which unfortunately isn’t very good at informing us what the actual problem is.

Any ideas or suggestions what is going on & how to fix it?

According to the article, this was the problem I was having because I am using Brave browser:

“This error can occur when AMP pages are automatically redirected to non-AMP pages by a browser or extension.”

So I disabled this feature in Brave and was able to successfully install G4!

But do I have to leave this AMP feature disabled in Brave for G4 to continue to work, or was it only necessary for the initial setup?

You are most welcome. If you are checking the G4, yes you may disable the AMP feature in Brave.

Hey John,

No, you just need to disable it on your Brave in the initial setup, once the setup is done, you can enable those settings again.
