Updating From X v9.1.4

When we update from X theme v9.1.4, it breaks our global styles and deletes the footer on our site.

Is this a common issue in upgrading between these versions?
What do you recommend we do to get a successful upgrade that doesn’t do this?

Updates may override custom CSS or settings, particularly if changes were made directly within the theme files instead of using a child theme. The same goes for the footer deletion.

Steps to Ensure a Successful Upgrade:

  • Backup Everything: Before upgrading, ensure you have a full backup of your site, including the database and files.

  • Use a Staging Environment: If possible, create a staging site where you can test the update before applying it to your live site. This allows you to identify and fix any issues without affecting your live site.
