Updated X, now throwing parse error

Entire site is down. Can’t log into back end, either. This after simply updating X to latest version. Don’t ask what versions of anything I’m running, because all I get is this:

ParseError thrown

syntax error, unexpected ‘)’

Husband/webguru signed in, moved Cornerstone (originally, in my panic, I thought I’d just updated Cornerstone) from /plugins to a different directory, and that didn’t fix anything.

Help!

Edited to add:
Oh, also, I know that my PHP is out of date, but because of one thing and another, it’s impossible to update it right now. It’ll be a couple of months at least before that can be managed.

If the new X requires a PhP update, how do I go back to the previous version of X?

We’re running PHP 7.2.24.

Edited again to add:
What is the oldest version of PhP that is supported?
In the meantime, how do I go back a version for X?

Edited Again!
Decided to delete X, and try again. Found the previous stable release of X, downloaded the zip file, and NOW I get a new and lovely error:

The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.

Calgon, take me away!

Okay. My site is back up. Hubby increased the upload file size limit, I uploaded the older version of X, and it all works. Whew.

Guess I didn’t need to start this thread in the first place. With luck, it’ll be helpful to someone else.

Hello @fiberdreams,

Glad to know that things are well for you.

Thanks
