Updated Slider on Eclipses Demo and Page Not Displaying Correctly

I’m using the Eclipse band demo template which had a slider next to a counter. I used a plugin to replace some images as I wanted to update them into the same spot and now the rest of my about page won’t display.

It’s just the slider full width but the rest of the content still shows up if I go to do a plain text edit. What did I do wrong here?!!!

Hey @irocarol,

I’m sorry but it’s not clear to me what the issue is based on your description. Would you mind providing more details and screenshot of the issue?

Thanks.

My original About page was a full about-me page that essentially had 4 sections: about me, faq drop down menu section, and another section about my dog, followed by the slider that came with the demo page originally (left was a counter, right was 3 cities I believe for the fake band tour slider). I had replaced the slider with my own images. When I went to update my images (using the “enable media replace” plug-in, that I had selected to rewrite the file name/link path) I lost everything else on my page and now it’s only the slider:

When I try to edit it in Pro, there are 0 sections. But when I look at the page through the WordPress dashboard, in the text editor, my content appears to still be there.

I hope that helps. I don’t have a way to take a screen shot of how it should look. But this slider seems to be the problem.

Here is an example of the text that I can see in the dashboard, but isn’t displaying on the site or in Pro mode:

Hi @irocarol,

Be advised that only pages created with Cornerstone can be edited in Cornerstone. Any changes you did outside of Cornerstone, like any changes you may have done using the default WP editor will not be saved when you edit the page back in Cornerstone. Doing so may even corrupt the cornerstone data which may cause issue wherein you can no longer edit the page in Cornerstone. So your about page data is corrupted and I strongly advised you to re-create your about page using the Cornerstone editor.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

No this doesn’t really help. I was in the Pro editor. Changed out a media link. Were you able to look at it and see if there’s anything salvageable?

This theme is proving to be more headache than it’s worth.

Hey @irocarol,

Did you edited the page outside of Pro editor? It seems that the page meta data were corrupted. If you didn’t edit this page outside of the editor, we could assume that the plugin that replaces your image may have corrupted the data and now the page is no longer editable in Pro editor. We can no longer salvage any data because of that. The fastest way to resolve your issue is to recreate the page from scratch. Be aware that we do not have any hold on accidental deletion or corruption of metadata. This data is our only link between your page and the Pro editor.

Thank you for your understanding.

No I didn’t edit anything outside of the Pro editor. But thank you for the clarification about the corrupted metadata. That being said, is there a way I can bring only the “About” page from the Eclipses demo to start from 0? I don’t want to overwrite the rest of my site. And I can’t seem to figure out how to recreate the layout on my own.

Hey @irocarol,

The best thing to do in that case is to create a local test site and import the Eclipse demo in there. In case you don’t know yet, the license allows you to have 1 production site and 1 test or staging site. You can register the URL of the staging site on your license page so you could import the Design Cloud assets to your staging site.

After that, you need to save the About page of the demo as a template using the Template Manager. Download the template then import it to your live site then load the template to your current About page.

Hope that helps.
