Updated plugin and now the most current posts are not showing

It appears that the default category that shows on my site “all” is not actually all the posts, instead it’s going back many posts. It looks like when I select “news” category my latests posts show. However, this is not what defaults upon visiting the site. Didn’t have this issue till this morning upon updating plugins. Would anyone have any suggestions to fix. I’m far from a WordPress pro. Thank you.

Hey @insomniacmagazine,

None of our products has the capability to change post categories. You could try testing for a plugin conflict to check if one of the third-party plugins caused the issue. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Another possibility is someone that has control over your site might also have changed “All” to “News”.

Hope that leads you to the solution.

Thanks. Is this a setting I can change with the theme?

Hello @insomniacmagazine,

In X > Theme Options > Ethos > Blog Option > Filterable Index, you can define which categories will be displayed in the blog index. You can disable this option and see how it goes.

Meanwhile, since you have installed W3 Total Cache plugin, please always clear your plugin cache right after every site changes and updates so that the latest version of the changes will be displayed and not the cached version which might be the issue in your site.

Please let us know how it goes.
