Update to X 10.0.2 broke site

Hi. I just updated my website theme to the latest version of X and this has totally broken how the site looks.

Can you please urgently advise how to roll back to 9.1.4 as it was all fine before the update was done?

Hi @chrisjdavies,

Thanks for reaching out.
It is not clear if you have updated the Cornerstone too. If not I would suggest you update Cornerstone by following the below steps.

  1. Delete the existing Cornerstone
  2. After deletion of the Cornerstone, please use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone.

If that does not help and you still want to roll back to the older version, please download the Previous version from your Themeco Account and re-install it by following the below steps.

  1. Deactivate and delete the existing X theme.
  2. Delete the existing Cornerstone
  3. Upload the previous version of the X theme
  4. After activating the X theme, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be on the latest version

Hope it helps.
Thanks

HI, thank you. I rolled back via a backup of my website so I am back on 9.1.4. When I try to update Cornerstone (I can see an update in the wordpress plugin update area) it says plugin not found and that is the same for other Theme Co plugins, Content Dock & Email Forms. Is there an issue with updating directly from Wordpress? I have always done this before
Thanks

Hi @chrisjdavies,

For the Cornerstone, I would request you follow the way I have described in my previous reply. And for the other plugin, you can update from the Plugin List.

Thanks

Would you suggest updating Cornerstone before the Theme?

Am going to do on a staging site but want to make sure I am doing it in the right order as I can see a lot of people encountering problems in the forum

Hello @chrisjdavies,

I would suggest you please follow these steps to update the theme.

  1. Deactivate the Cornerstone plugin
  2. Update the Theme,
  3. Update the Cornerstone plugin
  4. Activate the Cornerstone page builder plugin now.

Please note you must clear the browser cache and purge all the cache after updating so that the latest code renders properly. You need to have a database and files backup before updating the theme, plugin, or WordPress core.

Hope it helps
Thanks
