Update issue - critical error & font issues

Dear Sirs,

we would require some help with updating the theme on our website to the latest version.

Recently we took the time to update the website, however, the source of the problem was that both Wordpress and the X theme haven’t been updated for quite some time. If we tried updating directly, the whole website crashed, so we first created a copy of the website and:

  1. Disabled all the plugins and switched from the X theme to some default preinstalled theme

  2. Updated Wordpress to the latest version

  3. Installed latest X theme

  4. Switched to the latest X theme

  5. Turned on the necessary plugins

This way the update was successful and almost everything seems to work ok, however:

  1. If we go to Appearance > Customize, some error occurs and this is the message we receive: “There has been a critical error on this website”

  2. When looking at the pages, everything looks ok, apart from some CSS for fonts - for some reason the font settings set in theme options are not applied, but rather from some other CSS file that applies “inherit” value and thus sets the fonts to Times New Roman.

==> Because of all this it seems that the update wasn’t fully successful. Would you be able to investigate with us what the reason is or how we should approach updating the theme from scratch to avoid this in the first place?

Thank you for your assistance :pray:t2:

Hello @neskec,

Thanks for writing to us.

It seems that you are using the latest version of the X( 10.4.21) theme but you are using the older version of the Cornerstone(6.1.4) page builder plugin. I also noticed that some other plugins are outdated I would suggest you please update the other plugins as well and purge all the cache then check it in the private mode of the browser.

Hope it helps
Thanks
