Update Is Breaking Pages

Hello,

When I update from 5.25 to 6.04 (on X) it breaks some pages on my site. The Insights page is a good example. I have run through it with my server team and they have come to the conclusion that it is an issue with theme files. Can you take a look? The site is http://staging.sendero.flywheelsites.com. The username is flywheel and the password is sendero (to get past the initial barrier).

Hello @m2digital,

Thanks for asking.

Can you please confirm the site login credentials as they are not working?

Thanks.

Info in secure note.

Hello There,

Thanks for updating in! It appears that you haven’t fully updated the plugins.
Please make sure that you are up to date:

  • X theme 6.0.4
  • Cornerstone 3.0.4

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hey,

I updated the plugins and made sure there are no cache plugins. I also cleared the cache. Everything is up to date.

Still not working though, can you take another look?

Hi There,

Your Cornerstone is still in version 2.0.2, please update to the latest Cornerstone version 3.0.4 because that is the version that is compatible with the latest X 6.0.4

You can easily do this by deactivating and deleting the Cornerstone, then navigate to X > Validation, X will automatically re-install the right version of Cornerstone from there.

Remember to clear all caches (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

If the issues, persists try switching to parent X theme, it could be something on your child theme customization that is causing the errors.

Cheers!

Ah for some reason it was installing two versions of Cornerstone. Thanks!

You’re more than welcome, glad we could help.

Cheers!

Hi must I update one before the other? Or doesn’t it matter?

Hey @epbuw,

Yes, the order doesn’t matter but you need to update one after the other to avoid conflicts.

Thanks.
