I how can we add separate meta titles and descriptions for individual posts or portfolio items or pages. All urls end up showing the site meta tags from the settings and the code in the functions.php in the child theme doesn’t seem to be working. Some info on this would be great. Need to add separate meta tags for each post and portfolio item.

Thanks for writing in! What you have in mind is beyond the scope of our support. It is already considered an enhancement of the site and not related to the X theme or Cornerstone plugin. What we can suggest is that you should be able to add a unique meta title and descriptions by using a 3rd party plugin. With the 3rd party plugin like Yoast, no coding is required. It will provide you the easiest and straight forward implementation of your unique titles, keywords, and descriptions.
