Under Construction social icons displaying as hollow squares in Pro 2.2.5

Under construction social icons are displaying as a hollow square instead of their icon with either Pro or Pro Child.
I created a new local site with Pro 2.2.5 and only configured the under construction extension -> Hollow social icons.
I also created a second new local site with Pro child theme - same result. Hollow square icons.
The only extension I have configured is Under Construction
Using Local by Flywheel; Pro 2.2.5; WP 4.9.8; PHP 7.1.4; Apache Webserver; MySQL 5.6.34

Configuring Theme Options | Social shows the proper social icon in a footer.

Thanks for the speedy reply.
My public site (outstandingimage.com.au) is running X 5.2.5 with Under construction 2.03 - which is working fine for social icons.
It’s my local development site (I did a clean install of Pro to have a play) that is having the display issues. I have cleared my browser cache as well.

Thanks for updating in! Are you using the latest version of Cornerstone? Please make sure to update to the latest versions.
Our latest versions are:
- Pro theme 2.2.5 (if you are using Pro)
- X theme 6.2.5
- Cornerstone 3.2.5

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

_After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.-

Hi @RueNel,

I’ve got Pro 2.2.5 installed + Pro Child - got both from my Apex dashboard this week, and installed on a fresh WP 4.9.8 database. All running on a local machine with PHP 7.1.4, Apache Webserver, and MySQL 5.6.34.

Where can I find my Cornerstone version? I thought it was installed as a part of Pro.

Hello There,

You do not need Cornerstone if you are using Pro theme. Would you mind providing us the url of your site with login credentials so we can take a closer look and fix the issue?

To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password

  • FTP Hostname
  • FTP Username
  • FTP Password

WORK AROUND for Under Construction Hollow Social Icons

Hi,
I’ve struggled to load up the local site, so went back to my Live + Dev sites (older X with Under Construction working OK).

I upgraded my (X Child) Dev site to latest X 6.2.5, then all the plugins. Under Construction social icons display OK still :smile:
I then did the same with (X Child) live site - Under Construction Social Icons show hollow squares :confused:

Both these sites have all the X Extensions installed.
Dev has Under Construction active + Modern Events Calendar Active (and unused)
Live has just Under Construction Active and hollow icons.

Making Modern Events CalendarActive FIXES the hollow under construction social media icons. :grinning:

I have created another fresh local Pro 2.2.5 + Child site. Installed only Under Construction & Modern Events Calendar, and activated both. Social media icons in under construction are there. Deactivate Modern Events Calendar and the Under Construction icons go hollow…

I hope this helps anyone else struggling with this issue.

Works for both X and Pro
