Under Construction Plugin not linking

Hi,

I’ve set up the under construction plug in, both using the settings in the plug in and by creating a page and choosing it in the settings and neither option has provided me with an Under Construction landing page. Please help me get this working.

Thank you,
Jordan

All the best!

Not a problem, here is the info. Thank you!

Hello There,

Thanks for providing the information. It appears that you have installed the older version of the plugin. I went ahead and updated it.

For added information, please be aware that the X plugins has been updated to version 2.x.x. You can find out the latest versions in our changelog: https://theme.co/changelog/

Please check your site now.

It is still not showing the under construction page. I have selected to use my own page and it does not work. Please help me find the problem.

Hi there,

I just went over your website admin and disabled the Under Construction, then enabled it and it worked correctly.

Thank you.

Just went to my website and it’s still not working. Not sure what you’re seeing but I still have the “Hello World” page up on every browser I have tried. This plugin does not seem to work.

Hey @nelsonaerials,

I’ve checked, and I see the “Pardon our dust” page. I had to do a force refresh (ctrl +F5 on PC, cmd+shift+r on Mac) though. It looks like you might have some heavy cacheing on the front end of your site.

Wow I didn’t realize that. Thank you for pointing that out and giving the shortcut to force a refresh.

That may be a problem in the future with heavy cacheing like that….what can be done to minimize that?

Thanks!

Hi There,

Deactivating any caching plugin/feature while the site is under development should help, it would enable you to see changes immediately. Activate the caching when the site is live and you’re not editing it.

Thanks,

I deactivated WP Super Cache and still am having the same issue. I even visited the site from other computers that had not been there and still the same issue. A hard refresh in Chrome is the only way to see the under construction page and a hard refresh in Safari doesn’t show it. I downloaded W3 Total Cache and used their “empty all caches” and I’m still in the same boat. Don’t know what to do. I need this page to be working properly before I begin working on the site.

Hi again,

I tested your site and it still looks like the content is being served by the cache. Can you please follow this article to purge all cache http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/ make sure to check if your hosting provider is using any cache, ask them to purge it as well.

Let us know how this goes!

Thanks Nabeel! I purged and disabled the cache at the hosting level and that did the trick. Thank you all so much for the help and I apologize it took so long to get it figured out!

Glad we could help.

Cheers!
