Under Construction page color settings don't seem to work

Hi, brand new user here. So far I love the Pro experience and the theme.co site.

Just installed Pro and set up an under construction page. I picked a green color for most of the available pieces of text, but after updating the default white color is shown. This remains true after clearing the cache and loading the page in a different browser. The page is certainly being reloaded, because removing the password changes the behavior.

Speaking of which, if no password is set in the Under Construction options, what is the expected behavior please? I can’t tell because I have no other pages yet that might load. I was kind of hoping the key would disappear, but it didn’t, and clicking the login button made the Under Construction page just reload. If there were other pages, would it have let me through?

Thanks.

Hi Frank,

Welcome to our Themeco family.

I checked the Under Construction plugin on my local installation and it worked as expected. The colors of the Heading and subheading and text are correct and the password works.

If you do not set any passwords there should not be any Key icon and you will not be able to access the front end of the website unless you log in using the WordPress admin section.

I think it should be something related to your installation and it might be a cache problem as you guessed. So I suggest that you follow the steps below:

1- Make sure that you are using Pro version 3.2.3 and the Under Construction plugin version 2.1.0. If you have other versions please kindly update.
2- Clear any cache plugin that you might have and deactivate cache plugins.
3- Check the website with another browser or machine to make sure the browser cache is not in play.

I would avoid using cache plugins until I finish the development phase so that I can see the real changes.

kindly get back to us with the result of the steps above and URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard using the Secure Note functionality of the post to follow up the case if you still have problems.

Thank you.

Wow, thanks for your quick and helpful reply.

  1. Check, latest versions.
  2. No specific cache plugins; I disabled “SG Optimizer” (Siteground), which I don’t know if it has any cache functionality, and there was no option to clear anything.
  3. Here’s where it gets interesting: When I check it with another browser on the same machine (Windows 10 1909 etc.), I was getting the same results - wrong colors, etc.; the wrong page looked the same in both browsers. But on a second machine, the new font color etc. did appear. So then I went back to the first machine and cleared everything, site data, cookies, and images. Then the correct Under Construction page showed up. So I guess the problem may have been a combination of both SG Optimizer and local browser cache. So, not that interesting, I guess, after all.

The main thing is that I’m impressed with the quality and speed of the response to my forum message. And the more I am learning about the product, the more I am impressed with it too. I think I spent way too much time giving my former framework the benefit of the doubt and trying to get it to work.

Thank you so much.

Hey Frank,

We’re glad that the issue is just browser caching. The browser cache should be included in the cache clearing routine.

Also, thank you for your kind words about our support service and product.
