Unable to use cornerstone - preview unresponsive after loading - plugin conflict or aggressive page cacheing error message

Hi, Ive updated core and theme and can’t get into pages to use cornerstone. I get error message: This preview was unresponsive after loading. this is most often due to aggressive cacheing or a plugin conflict

With help of WPEngine hosting support (they cache server side and don’t allow cacheing plugins) we turned off cacheing then went through plugins to check incompatability - without solution to this problem

With this plugin disabled, it changes to ‘plugin conflict/aggressive caching’ - the site has been tested with the entire site uncached and proven it’s not cache. We’ve also gone through the entire plugin list to check which is incompatible - no solution there either

Looks like this is related to site’s performance. Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials as well? For the meantime, please add this to your site’s wp-config.php (just below WP_DEBUG line).

The only content in that page is the grid and when removed, it works okay just like the other pages. I like to check the debug logs of your site to see what’s going on with that grid.

Hi There,

Thank you for the credentials, Is the issue only happening to a specific page? Your Cornerstone seems to be fine now, I don’t the errors.

Please update the X – Custom 404 to the latest version and clear your browser’s cache.

You can deactivate and delete the X – Custom 404 and then reinstall it from X > Validation > Extensions

Hi, thanks for coming back to me
I’m specifically trying to update content on the grid on the page I have just added in the secure note. when i try to access this page through cornerstone, I am still getting the error message I’ve also placed in secure note.
Many thanks for continuing to help. I need to have this site accessible for editing by start of business Monday morning.

I checked and there is no logged errors or even warning, would you mind switching to your staging? There is existing optimization on your site since it’s a live site and I like to test it without it. Sometimes it loads and sometimes not, maybe I could find something the staging copy of your site since it’s WPEngine.

Hey @lovecoms,

The issue in your Speeches page was due to the usage of Classic Section. I changed it to a V2 Section and it works now.

I’m not sure why the Classic Section caused the issue though. If this happens again, please try testing upgrading to PHP 7.

How do i change the classic sections to V2 - there are classic sections throughout the site and I would love to change them all out.
Can you give me a process?

Hello There,

The classic section which work just fine if you insert v2 elements in it. If you change the classic sections, rows and column into V2 section structure, you will have to edit the page and recreate each of the classic section structure into a v2 section structure which would include the contents of the sections. Regretfully, there is no immediately that you can changed it automatically.
