Thank you so much for your response. We have been working to resolve the issue following your recommendations. Here are the steps we have taken and the results achieved:
- Deactivated cornerstone and reactivated through the link on the dashboard; did not resolve the issue (Cornerstone did not update to most recent version either upon reactivation, still at 5.0.11)
- Followed plugin conflict troubleshooting steps (disabled all plugins except cornerstone); did not resolve the issue
- Switched theme from child theme (X) to parent theme. This allowed us to update and delete plugins, so possible root of one issue here. All plugins with updates available were updated, and one deleted. A new version for Cornerstone available but no direct update option, therefore we enabled auto-updates (waited 32 minutes for the update to start).
- When the waiting time for Cornerstone update passed, it appears that the Cornerstone plugin did not update (still showing 5.0.11).
- Attempted to make changes in Cornerstone under parent theme and changes are still not saving; did not resolve the issue.
- All caches have been purged; did not resolve the issue.
- All previous site health problems still exist.
We gather from the troubleshooting we did today that there is some underlying issue with the X Theme that is blocking Cornerstone from updating to the most recent version. When X was inactivated, we were able to update and delete plugins as normal, and site health issues cleared. However, Cornerstone still did not resolve issues with updating content. When we activated X again, all issues returned (plugins no longer able to update/delete, health site issues, etc.).
Please see attached screenshot of our plugins screen indicating the current status of Cornerstone. This image was taken when the parent theme was active (child theme X deactivated)
