Unable to load pages or posts on wordpress but works on Cornerstone

Hi! In the last couple days, I stopped being able to edit any of the posts and pages on my website (sunordic.org) and was only able to do so on Cornerstone. I did some troubleshooting including the following:

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled all plugins except Cornerstone
  • Contacted a 3rd party wordpress developer who confirmed one of my guesses that it was not a Samesite cookie error on Chrome (it was showing up on the backend as a possible error when I inspected the source)
  • Cleared cache
  • Tested it on my two laptops (both Macbook Airs) on chrome and safari as well as on mobile (iPhone iOS, Safari)

In the end, I contacted the team at Siteground and someone from their technical support wrote this: I would highly advise you to get in touch with the Cornerstone developer, as the matter stems from the plugin itself malfunctioning. I went ahead and created a database backup and then deactivated the plugin, after which I was able to edit pages without any issues.

From what I understand, Cornerstone was installed with the theme from Themeco. Is this something you guys could help with or should I contact Cornerstone directly?

Hi Nicoletter,

We’re sorry you are having this issue. Just to understand the error, can you give us screenshot or screencast showing the issue?

Yes we are the developer of Cornerstone. Since you already did basic troublshooting, please share credentials inside a secure note. Thank you.

Hi Lely, yes I can! Here is a screenshot of what it looks like on my Chrome browser and here is how I recreated the problem:

  1. Went to Posts > Add New or Posts > All Posts > Add New or Pages > Add New or Pages > All Posts > Add New.

Thanks for your help and I hope you can help me with fixing it and/or figuring out what I need to do next.

Hi again Lely, it looks like I figured out what the problem was and it turns out it was not what the Siteground developer had mentioned. I downloaded the Classic Editor plugin & enabled their troubleshoot mode then went ahead to try and deactivate every single possible plug-in in safe mode, it turns out it was this new plugin I had installed called " WP Cost Estimation & Payment Forms Builder that was causing both the pages/posts to not be able to viewed, and as I realised, it also caused another plug-in I had (Forminator) to malfunction and not show up forms on mobile view.

I am not sure if this was a one-off issue but I did I want to share that I downloaded it as it came recommended by Themeco under the list of approved plug-ins.

Thanks for your help! You are still welcome to log in & take a look at it on the backend

Hey Nicolette,

I checked your setup and did some tests and it turned out the Forminator plugin is conflicting with WP Cost Estimation & Payment Forms Builder which is breaking the post and page editors. I have activated the WP Cost Estimation & Payment Forms Builder and deactivated the Forminator plugin and it brought back the page and post editors.

Since Forminator is third party plugin that we do not support so regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. You will need to contact the original developer in this regard.

Thank you for understanding!
