Unable to install plugin

Hello, I’m using X on a website. Today the button INSTALL plugin doesn’t work. Nothing happens if I click on it. I already tried to disable all the plugins to see if there was any conflict. Also tried to use different browsers.

Hi @dcheese,

Sorry to hear that you’re having this issue. The cause is javascript error and the button is affected. Could you try re-installing your theme? Looks like it’s originating from old script.

Then please provide your FTP login credentials so I could verify if the theme files are all updated.

Ehi Rad, did you saw the secure note? The installed version is 6.0.4. The buttons worked since yesterday. And I haven’t installed or updated plugins

Thanks for updating the thread.

I can see that you have latest version of X Theme and Cornerstone. However, sometimes while updating themes and plugins some old files don’t get replaced with new ones and that creates issues. That’s the reason why my colleague suggested you to try reinstalling X Theme.

I see that you have installed X Child theme and some codes are there in function.php file. I suggest you to completely delete X Theme from Appearance > Themes or using FTP under /wp-content/themes/ directory. After that please download latest version of X Theme from members area or Themeforest and upload them same from Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme and then see wether or not Install button is working.

In case you are still facing the problem, please share FTP details in a secure note for us to take a closer look. Also can you please give us to the permission to troubleshoot the problem? We may have to perform some tests on the website which may effect the performance, appearance, layout and functioning of website temporarily.

Hi,

Please try re-installing your main theme first, if that doesn’t help you can try deactivating that too,

Don’t forget to create full backup of your site before doing this

Ehi guys, the problem is still there. I’ve tried to delete and re-upload the theme but the issue still remains.
Can you have a closer look? you have my permission, but please leave the website under maintenance. Please let me know when you are done. :heart: Thank you

I’ll do it tomorrow. In the meantime I’m waiting for an answer from my hosting, the error seems to be something like “WordPress can not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org”
