Unable to edit/create rev slider - sends us to home page

Hi There

We have been working on an update for one of our websites and will be basing it on the Integrity 1 demo with the full page video above the masthead, we have all that set up and it has been working fine, however we need to make some tweaks to the slider and cannot access those pages anymore. When clicking the link from either the menu or the top of the page within cornerstone, instead of taking you to the slider page it seems to redirect back to our homepage.

All items are running on the most up to date versions, Wordpress, Theme and plugins. And we haven’t added any extra plugins for there to be a conflict.

Please help

Many Thanks

Hello Nicci,

Thanks for asking.

Under Settings > Permalinks check if the permalink setting that is currently active has index.php in it. If you see index.php, try removing it and check again.

If the issue persists, please provide us with the admin access to your site in a Secure Note:

Thank you.

Hi

Secure note sent with admin access. I have checked the permalink settings and no sign of index.php anywhere

thanks

Hi Nicci,

Thanks, but your site is inaccessible from our end. It probably has a security that blocks access from other countries. Please deactivate it for a moment while we’re checking it. Let us know

Thanks!

Hi

It isn’t anything we have active, but please let me have your IP details and I can ensure it isn’t blocked with my hosting company.

Thanks

Hello Nicci,

Thanks for updating the thread.

Themeco support staff works from different geographical regions and time shifts. So it’s difficult for us to give you IP address. Please have a word with the hosting company and remove the country or IP blocking.

Thanks.

Hi

my host found a word fence plugin that wasn’t visible my end. so they have removed a Wordfence rule from the .htaccess file

hopefully that will help

thanks

Hi Nicci,

Unfortunately, it still the same. Your site is up and running which I can confirm using proxy, but it’s not accessible if we access it directly. Using proxy is slower and not secured since we’ll be inputting your credentials once we login to check it.

Thanks!

hi
can you please try again, they said the have “tweaked some firewall settings”

thanks

Hello Nicci,

It seems that your site is experiencing server problems.

Please contact your hosting provider regarding this matter and let us know so that we can continue to check your issue.

Hi

All checked with hosting, no problems this end

Thanks

Hi Nicci,

It’s accessible now  , maybe the change isn’t just instant.

It redirects to home page due to Custom 404 plugin, but the real issue is why it’s being displayed as 404. Could you try re-installing the Revolution Slider plugin?

Else, please provide your FTP login credentials again and I’ll check if the installed folder is accessible. It could be related to security as well.

Thanks!

Hi

At least you can now access it. I deleted the plugin and re-installed but it still redirects to the homepage, so I have sent a secure note with Cpanel credentials.

Thanks

Hi Nicci,

It’s not the plugin that’s causing the 404 issue, it just do the redirect once the page is a 404, so re-installing it will only redirect it again.

I deactivated the pretty permalink and found out that the revolution slider URL is blocked due to security. It’s the root cause of this issue. The reason why it’s displaying 404 when pretty permalink is active which then redirected by a plugin, a chain effect

Please contact your hosting provider about this issue, but make sure the permalink is set to Plain in Admin > Settings > Permalinks and the plugin Custom 404 is inactive. That’s to make sure they will see this 403 Forbidden issue.

And please tell them that setting the permalink other than Plain doesn’t generate a .htaccess file which then also related to that issue.

Thanks!

hi

thanks for all your suggestions, with your advise I was finally able to give the hosting company the link to the 403 forbidden issue and they were able to locate an IP block from our end just for that page.

All sorted, Thanks so much for your patience.

Many Thanks

Hey Nicci,

We’re glad that the issue has been resolved.
We appreciate for letting us know.

Best Regards.
