Unable to change font type on parts of text/headings

Hi,

i am having trouble with changing the font style for a couple of headings or maybe all depending on how it looks. For example i have my fonts set to google fonts and Montserrat but lets say i want a few headings as lobster. When i set under style the following: font-family: ‘Lobster’ !important; the font changes but not to lobster, it changes to times new roman. Do you know why this is the case?

thanks again.

Hey Chris,

First, I’d like to let you know that though it would this would look nice, this would take some toll in your page load speed.

Now to the issue, the most probable reason is the Lobster font is not loaded. The loading of font in X and Pro is by selecting the font in the Theme Options or in the builders. That is the optimized behavior because you will not want all of the fonts you’ve added in the Font Manger to load in the front-end because it will slow down your site.

If you have no text that will use the font in your site, you will need to load the font through third party means like what I recommended in this thread.

Hope that helps.

Thanks @christian_y. I was only really talking about maybe 2 fonts. One for heading and one for the body. Also do you have instructions if i wanted to add a font that isnt included in the theme. Thanks again for your help. Its much appreciated

Hello There,

Thanks for the clarifications. The fonts can only be set in X > Theme Options > Typography. You can set the font family for the headings and the body and contents of your site. If there is a need, you can make use of the font manager where in you can manager the font families that you would like to us. Please check out this article for more details: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/font-manager/101/1

And if you want to apply a custom font that is not included in the theme, you can refer to this thread to be able to use your custom font: https://xthemetips.com/adding-your-own-font-to-x/139/, https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/how-to-add-custom-fonts/23999/6, https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/adding-custom-fonts-to-font-manager/18330/14,

Hope this helps.
