Uh oh! Failed to Save Error After Update

Hi,

After last weeks updated I noticed I am unable to update pages using cornerstone. When I try I get the following message “Uh oh! Failed to save.”

Actual Message: https://www.screencast.com/t/v1zoDsAV0

How do we fix this?

Thank You

I found a workaround, but am still waiting for the same answer.

When in cornerstone, you can go to the settings tab on the top of the menu and switch to draft. Then you can save your edits and switch back to publish in cornerstone.

It will not allow you to publish in Wordpress or save any edits on a published page.

I have the same issue.

Hi everyone,

Most of the time this means a plugin is performing an action when a post or page saves, and it’s conflicting with the Cornerstone save process. At the moment, we’re not aware of any specific conflicts, but you can help us narrow things down with some testing. Could you please try testing for a plugin conflict on your site? You can do this by:

  • Deactivating all plugins
  • Activate one plugin at a time
  • Save the builder after each plugin is activated. You’ll want to see the save button highlight first, so adding/deleting an element will make it think something changed.

Please let us know if you identify a particular plugin that is causing this issue.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
The plugin Yoast SEO Premium is causing the issue…

Hi @baysquentin,

Glad that you are able to find the exact reason behind your issue. As this is a 3rd Party plugin issue, I would suggest you contact the Plugin Author on this and let us know the feedback from them.

Thanks

Hello all. Just to keep this post going i can confirm that we have had to deactivate Yost to allow us to save pages.

Hi @The_Capture_Factory,

As my colleague suggested, please reach out to the Yoast SEO plugin author and ask them for their input.

Thank you.

Hi,

I’ve determined that SEO Press is also the culprit. You need to disable to save on existing posts. Odd, that this is an SEO plugin related issue.

Hi @slui,

Issue related to the SEOPress plugin has been already reported into our Issue Tracker for further investigation by our development team.

Thanks

Great to hear because this is the response from SEO Press.

Having the same issue. Seriously? I have to deactivate Yoast to save pages?

Hi @slui Yes this has been added to our issue tracker.

@emormile Can you confirm that your Yoast SEO is in the latest version? I saw a similar ticket and the issue is their Yoast SEO was outdated (not updated to the latest version), currently, Yoast SEO’s latest version is 17.1 (refer here).

Thanks,
