Uber Menu Font Defaults in Firefox and Chrome

Is there a way to stop the Uber menu font from defaulting to Times New Roman in Firefox and Chrome?

The font is set to Proxima Nova and works fine in Safari… the font loads fine in headings and body.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @wghiacy,

Thanks for reaching out.

Every device and browser has its own default font, and they are part of system fonts and it’s something you can’t remove. The question will be is why your Proxima Nova isn’t loading, how did you configure your Proxima Nova font on your Ubermenu? There is only available Google Font and Custom font for Ubermenu https://sevenspark.com/docs/ubermenu-3/faqs/font, and there is no TypeKit font where Proxima Nova is available.

If the said font is already installed on your device, it will work like on Safari even if you didn’t configure the font source. But not all devices and browsers have that or able to use that.

It loads fine on headings and body since it’s not part of Ubermenu, Ubermenu has its own font setting different from the theme.

Thanks!

Since adding the Typekit plugin on my website all was working well on all browsers (Safari, Firefox and Chrome)… But I made one tiny change the other day…

I typed “light” in the theme’s Customize > Uber Menu > Fonts > Font Family. But I did not add “light” to my web Typekit.

Now that I added Proxima Nova Light to the website Typekit (and even turned off Proxima Nova on my desktop Typekit and rebooted the computer) it is displaying correctly.

Thanks.

Hi @wghiacy,

You mean it’s now working as you added the Proxima Nova Light? Yes, it should be added and configured separately from themes and other plugins.

Thanks!
